On Saturday, Grantham took two teams of U14s to the Matlock winter tournament. For a change, we played as single-sex girls and boys teams, which was a lovely way to compete as opposed to mixed gender like we normally do in the leagues. As with most Matlock tournaments, it was a bit chaotic, very loud and nobody knew quite what was happening.

Each team played 3 games. The girls unfortunately lost their games but two were pretty close. The boys won two and lost one to the tournament winners, Northampton. It was 6-minute halves, with a running clock, so very fast-paced games.
Special thanks to Helen Culham who not only arranged the fixture but stepped in last minute as Coach/TM for the girls.
